Tips for buying fruits and vegetables

When you buy any fresh food, such as vegetables and fruits

  • Buy fruit and vegetables from the market or local green grocer, as they are generally cheaper than supermarkets. 
  • Buy seasonally, for best flavor and prices. 
  • You should avoid bad qualities that looks like not fresh, Select the most colorful fruit and vegetables – they all have different phytochemicals that are beneficial for us – so variety is key.
  • When you buy foods such as milk, cheese and dairy products you should make sure that they are cool in refrigerator market, also must make sure that frozen food such as meat, poultry, vegetables, ice cream, and frozen full extent within the market Freezer.
  • When buying The canned food you should not buy any swollen package from any side or showing any leak, also it is advised not to buy any Glass containers which are not clean or have cracks, this is also applies on food which do you keep in your home which may spoil and become unsafe after some period because of the bad storage.
  • Another important thing you should check expiration date on each product and don't buy any product hasn't expiration date on it.
  • Buy vegetables and fruits when in season and freeze for later use.
  • If you have fruit left over, rather than wasting it, stew and bottle it, make jam or chutney, freeze or dry it for future use.
